A great guy and a great artist I am teaming up with to put out some awesome upcoming content. He really has come a long way and has developed his own style very well. Take a look at his deviant art and let him know what you think.

Honestly, I was a sceptic the first 3D movie I saw was journey to the center of the earth and felt embarrassed in the first 15 minutes and walked out. The summed up the stigma with using 3d as a medium making use of cheap antics IE tape measurer and other things poping out at you into the audience like you expect at some disney theme park attraction.

However given this often embarrassing use of technology I figured I would give it one more shot. If I was to give the video medium another go I wanted the biggest and best they had to offer. I went to see Avatar in IMAX 3D. It only took until the first preview of Alice in wonderland to put my mind at ease that this is a amazing experience. IMAX alone is great but the added bonus of the 3d effect was not used as a cheap antic but as a high definition enhancement. Quite honestly it opened up a whole new realm of visual possibilities, and as a Digital video effects guy I am intrigued at the process in these amazing feats.

I even look foward to seeing the development of the 3D Television technology that if the high definition aspect of 3d was used in movies and prime time tv across the board would be a great step forward. I say this because when it comes to HDDVD and Bluray, yes it is awesome and the picture is astonishing, but it is still using much of the same tech that has been around for decades. As I see it we are just scratching the surface of this medium

If you are a 3d sceptic like I was, see Avatar in 3d before you pass judgment It is a viable format and not just a gimmick, If used correctly that is.

Back in November of 07 Clockwork-Kubrik began a collab, The Dolores Crate. This was a series of shorts three seconds in length that were found in the pandoraesque box. With in the week we are promised that it will be done through some minor tweeks. Through no lack of perseverance, and unexpected hurdles we are finally almost done with it! Look for it soon.

A long time in the making
